Welcome to our blog. We love to travel and to camp, getting inspired where we go. And we love our Tipi, the beautiful Alfheim 19.6 from Nordisk. At our blog, we will post stories, videos, pictures, from our base camp, and our travels in Denmark and the EU.
Why a Tipi?
Of all those different camping styles we have tried, the Tipi has come out as our favorite. To have a comfortable and pleasant stay is very important for us. Let’s face it. We are not youngsters anymore and like the comfort and quality of an excellent and healthy camping environment. Read our review.
The Tipi is an icon; it is so beautiful. The indoor climate is fantastic, and although it is cotton and only 1 millimeter thick, it is very comfortable inside under all weather conditions. When in a camper or “plastic” tent, the moisture can be a problem. But not in our Tipi. It is completely dry. We have had it out in the snow, frost, heavy rain, and storms, and it is rock-steady and secure. And at night, when we turn on the dim light inside – the circle is complete, absolutely fantastic.
What do we bring?
Besides all day necessaries, we variate between our to camp styles, the base camp, where we have a lot of stuff, and when we travel. At the base camp, I have my lovely yellow fishing kayak and outdoor equipment. But on the road, we only bring what is mandatory. We carry an airbed to get a good night’s sleep.
An airbed requires electricity to pump, and we almost always choose a campsite with the possibility to power up our devices. We have a small cookery gas stove and a pan for cooking. We have a small collapsing table and two good folding chairs, a tarp/parasol for wind and sun protection. The list is quite long and depends on the situation and destination – more about that in future posts.
We hope you will find this website and blog useful. Thank You.
